Jay Bisognano founded Torrington Properties in 2014 in order to capitalize on opportunities in value-added real estate investment, development, and management.
Jay oversees the day-to-day operations of the company while growing its portfolio through the application of proven investment strategies. He brings his passion, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive to each investment opportunity. Torrington’s diversified portfolio consists largely of residential apartment buildings but also includes select office and hospitality properties.
Previously, Jay served as Executive Vice President and Partner of The Mount Vernon Company, where he oversaw the daily operations of a $350 million portfolio of residential and commercial properties. During his tenure at the rm, Jay managed the ground-up development of properties collectively valued at over $150 million, handling the rm’s site selection, permitting, financing, construction, and stabilization. Jay also identified and acquired over $250 million in existing properties for the rm, for which he managed both the construction and property management functions.
Jay is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, with a Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.
He serves on the board of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County as well as the committee for the Playing for Parkinson’s charity, which raises money for Parkinson’s research.
